HoS Position at St Richard’s Catholic Primary School, Chichester

The Governors of St Richard’s Catholic Primary School are looking to appoint an exceptional individual to become our Head of School. We are seeking an inspirational leader to drive the school forward, in collaboration with our Executive Headteacher, as it continues its journey to excellence. The successful candidate will be a committed Catholic with positive, dynamic and ambitious vision who has the ability to inspire those around them.

St Richard’s is a one and a half form entry school, with extensive internal and external space, located between the South Downs and the sea in the historic city of Chichester. The school is supported by a committed staff team, amazing children and supportive parents. The post holder will benefit from a safe, happy, caring environment which encourages pupils to take advantage of all opportunities offered in order to develop their full potential both personally and academically. The school is underpinned by a well-structured curriculum and Catholic values, striving to instil a love of learning across the community.

St Richard’s is about to join the ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥, comprising Catholic primaries and secondary schools across Sussex. Each school retains its own identity, reflective of the community it serves, while enjoying the support of a strong trust team. The school achieved ‘Good’ in all areas in Ofsted 2022 and also enjoys an ‘Outstanding’ diocesan inspection grade.

We are looking to appoint an innovative leader who has:

  • the ability to work closely with other senior leaders and their schools
  • the commitment to diversity and inclusivity, and wholehearted support of the excellence of opportunities and provision for our children with SEND, those eligible for PPG and for whom English is an additional language
